A 47 cm by 62 cm, cut-away depiction of the RD-14M reactor loop. The loop, installed near WR-1 at the Whiteshell laboratories, consisted of two full-scale, full power (6 MW), fuel channels each containing a 37-element electrically-heated bundle to simulate full-power operation. A wide range of experiments, including ones dealing with Loss of Coolant Accidents (LOCA) simulations were carried out on this large (37 m tall), highly-instrumented loop.
