Hardy Phillipi was the winner of employee contests within AECL both to name a new employee award and to design the logo for it. His suggested name, in 1984, of “Discovery Award” and his design of the logo led to his being a winner of the award in 1985. The framed certificate measures 30 cm by 36 cm. The gift accompanying the award, a tea tray with the logo etched into the glass, measures 29 cm by 45 cm.
