Section of fuel element from the ZERLINA reactor

Description

A 4 cm diameter, 1 cm long slice of the fuel element from the Zero Energy Reactor for Lattice Investigations and New Assemblies (ZERLINA) located at Mumbai in India.  The nominal 100 W reactor is the Indian equivalent of ZED-2 at Chalk River.  The sample of unirradiated natural uranium is enclosed in a 10 cm by 10 cm plastic sandwich that measures 2.5 cm in thickness.
