Collection of models of electromagnet configurations

Artifact Number:

2021-063

Description

A collection of four, paper and wood, models of magnet configurations often used in particle-accelerator applications.  Graham Lee-Whiting was a theoretical physicist at Chalk River who participated in the design of numerous magnetic systems used for the physics and applied-accelerator programs at Chalk River.  He built these models to help explain the effects of the various shapes of magnets on ion beam trajectories in his lectures to colleagues and to students.
