Description

The certificate of the Honorary Doctor of Laws degree awarded to W.B. Lewis by Dalhousie University at Halifax on 29 October 1960.  The certificate which was stored within a mailing tube has the unusual feature of having a copy of the seal on a ribbon which allows it to hang over and hide the date of the award.

This was one of numerous items found in the former home of W.B. Lewis in Deep River following his death.  The new owner of the home donated them to the W.B. Lewis Library which in turn, several years later, donated them to the Society.
