Description

Matted and framed colour photograph of the first Modular Air-Cooled Storage (MACSTOR) module at the Gentilly-2 Nuclear Generating Station site.  Derived from AECL’s successful vertical-loading, concrete-silo program for storing CANDU nuclear spent fuel, MACSTOR was initially developed for light-water reactor spent fuel. It was later adapted for spent CANDU fuel. The framed photograph measures 51 cm by 61 cm.
