Description

A framed, 79 cm by 104 cm, photograph of a technician installing a fuel element for an experiment in the Zero Energy Experimental Pile (ZEEP) reactor located in Bldg. 105 at CRNL.  ZEEP, the first nuclear reactor to operate outside of the USA, was first put into operation on 05 September 1945. This photo was one of several that were on display for many years in the foyer of Bldg. 145.
