A 57 cm by 88 cm, colour, poster depicting the features of the Heysham 2 and Torness reactors. Both these reactors are of the AGR (gas-cooled, graphite-moderated) design and have a nominal electrical output of 1250 MW. Heysham 2 is located in Lancashire, UK, and became operational in 1988 while the Torness unit, also operational in 1988, is located at Torness Point, near Edinburgh, in Scotland. The design used in these two units was slightly improved on for the Hinkley Point B generating station. This diagram first appeared in the March 1981 issue of Nuclear Engineering International.
